Pixels to CM Converter
Convert pixel dimensions to centimeters and millimeters using a custom DPI resolution.
Convert Image Dimensions
Enter a pixel dimension and DPI to calculate the physical measurement.
Conversion Result
Calculated physical dimensions based on the selected DPI.
CM = (Pixels ÷ DPI) × 2.54
How to Convert Pixels to CM
Pixels are digital image units, while centimeters are physical measurement units. DPI, or dots per inch, determines how many pixels correspond to one physical inch.
CM = (Pixels ÷ DPI) × 2.54
Centimeters → Pixels
Pixels = (CM ÷ 2.54) × DPI
Millimeters
MM = CM × 10
Example
Suppose an image has a width of 1200 pixels and is intended for output at 300 DPI.
4 × 2.54 = 10.16 cm
10.16 × 10 = 101.6 mm
Therefore, 1200 pixels at 300 DPI corresponds to approximately 10.16 cm or 101.6 mm.
Common DPI Values
72 DPI
A value historically associated with some screen and web workflows.
150 DPI
Can be used for certain large-format or less-detailed print applications.
300 DPI
Commonly used as a target resolution for high-quality print work.
Why DPI Matters
The same pixel dimensions can represent different physical sizes depending on the DPI. For example, 1200 pixels at 300 DPI represents a smaller physical dimension than 1200 pixels at 150 DPI.
